If you try to look at the current log, and it does not display in the MX admin interface, it might be because you are trying to view it at the same time as the MX engine is writing the next line to it.
Because the dataTables version of the log seen on this web page in the admin interface, is not the actual log being used by the MX "engine", there can be no conflicts on access and this way of editing log files is just as safe for the current log as for past logs.
 
The exclusive locking stops the admin interface and the engine being able to both access the same file at the same time. So if your logging interval is every ten minutes, don't try to view it within 1 minute either side of the hour and within 2 minutes around every ten minutes thereafter. That still gives you 8 minutes between each 10 minute update for viewing!
 
Of course there is no conflict for selecting non-current standard log files.
