To allow Cumulus to calculate 'gust' and 'wind speed' with different values, select the '''Station''' dialogue from the ''Configuration'' menu and set '''Calculate 10 min wind average''', so the 10-minute average (calculated from the station 'Wind' values) is reported for 'wind speed' and the highest of those values over the previous 10 minutes is reported as 'Gust'.
