The final production version of Cumulus 1 (running in Windows for all supported weather stations) is not being supported any more. Existing Cumulus 1 users can update to this final stable installation version, download it here.
Cumulus 1 has now been described as Legacy Software, simply because it is no longer supported, and can no longer be updated.

Having updated to that version, there is a patch available here which simply replaces the file "Cumulus.exe" from above version. All other files from the full release, must be retained after applying the patch.
If you want to run Cumulus 1.9.4, there is no reason why you should not.  It is a stable release, and only one bug has been identified.

Whilst you can type any year you like into selection boxes on view month, view year, view period, and view NOAA report, this patch allows you to select years up to 2030 from a drop down in the relevant screen box.
The single known bug is that the original Cumulus software uses the wrong memory location for pressure for Fine Offset models.  These weather stations are also considered legacy ones.  There is a workaround described at FAQ#Cumulus_doesn.E2.80.99t_show_the_same_pressure_as_my_Fine_Offset_console.

The 1.9.4 helpfile can be viewed at Cumulus Top Weather Sites and downloaded (for viewing using Windows Help) at Cumulus.chm.  Other resources are listed at Software#Resources.
Download Instructions
Please refer to Setup page first, so you understand how the installation process works.

This is a multi-stage process:
#First Download the Windows Installer Package, the CumulusSetup.exe file here.
#*(There are two special alternatives shown at end of this page)
#Choose a location where you will install the software on your Microsoft Windows device
#* It is best to install to a root of whatever drive you are using for your normal documents
#Now run the installer, so it creates a large number of files and folders, (make sure the files and folders are installed in right location)
#*As you run the installer, read the instructions it displays .  This read me text can also be downloaded from a link in the resources section below
#When the installer has completed, there is another download to do.
#Now download the patch available here.
# Take the file "Cumulus.exe" from the patch, and use it to replace the file "Cumulus.exe" from whichever of the three installer packages you used earlier
#All other files from the full release, must be retained after applying the patch.  The patch does not change any of the compiled code, nor its functionality.
#Start running Cumulus as instructed on  Setup page.

Additional guidance
*You can type any year you like into selection boxes on view month, view year, view period, and view NOAA report.
*As well as directly typing in a date including a year into the selection box, you can pick a a date from the drop down boxes that can select year, and (where relevant) month and day.
*The windows installer version of the year drop-down selection only contains years 2008 to 2020.
*The patch changes the year drop-down selection to contains the years 2020 to 2030, making it easier for the current decade (at time of typing this) as it allows you to select years up to 2030 from a drop down in the relevant screen box.

One of the attractions of the original Cumulus software is that the installer installs a detailed set of help screens, so that each screen has a button that you can click for assistance, and the Main Screen has a Help menu where you can look up more guidance, such as web tags.  The 1.9.4 helpfile can also be viewed at Cumulus Top Weather Sites and downloaded (for viewing using Windows Help) at Cumulus.chm.  See below for a translation into French.
